INGREDIENTS:
1 cup daliya (fada)
1 onion& tomato finely chopped
Masala- 1 inch ginger, 1 or 2 green chilies, finely chopped, 1 tsp cumin, salt to taste
Your choice of vegetables -1 cup (carrots, green peas, corn, capsicum etc.)
4 cups water
1 tablespoon oil or ghee
Rinse the daliya & keep aside. Now take cooker & Heat oil. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds , let it splutter , Add onion -saute till they become pink in colour. Now add ginger & green chillies. Add 1 finely chopped tomato and saute for 1 minute.
Now add Your choice of vegetables -1 cup (carrots, green peas, corn, capsicum etc.) sprinkle salt to taste. Saute for 2 minutes on lows on low flame. & add daliya plus water. pressure cook on medium flame for 10-12 whistles or till the daliya is cooked well, or cook without the lid till they are softened and you get a porridge like consistency.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Note – You can add daal to make daliya khichadi
